I just got a heap of scanned film images back from the lab and I’m so excited to share them all. I have so many new favourites of Owen I will have to share them in small doses. I also have some gorgeous film images of the cutest baby that I can’t wait to show off, you will have to check back later in the week for those one’s.

First off here is Owen with his chook – Boofy.

I don’t know if he has genuinely taught it how to sit or if the poor thing is so terrified of him she is frozen with fear here.

What I love about being a photographer is the little adventures we always go on, looking for new locations and new things to photograph and just spending the afternoon wondering around in a field.

Those who enquired about my special offer here would know that I have started to shoot film, mainly for my personal work but I’m trying to workout how to incorporate it into my client work.

Getting film back from the lab is becoming very very additive! If only I could find a good lab….. Anyway that is a whole other story. Here are some pics of my gorgeous family all caught on film.

Life is hard enough without being true to your self. Strip away the outside, my thoughts and roles and I am who I am.

Strip away Mother and Baby Art and the photographs I take make my eyes well up, my body shiver and my heart thump.

I have mistakingly stepped onto the one way digital photography revolution train and now I’m desperately trying to jump off.

As a new business I’m completely in the learning stages of this new career and to be honest I don’t think I’m happy about where I’m headed.

I have a vision for Mother and Baby Art that pushes past the sleepy naked baby. Don’t get me wrong those shots are beautiful. But when I get home from a shoot and scroll through all the photos I have taken, the sweet newborn stretched foot high in the air or the tiny body cuddled in dads arms are the shots that GET me. They are true life. They are as they are. Just. being.

These are the moments I want to capture.

Mother and Baby Art Photography is getting a face lift in the months to come. With this I want to start being true to myself and the moments that I want to capture. But I need your help! This is probably a bad mother moment for me, but this afternoon while Owen was having a meltdown I pulled out my camera and started taking photos. I find him so fascinating and so incredibly beautiful that even though he is flooding with overwhelming emotion I still want to capture it. Although I have the ones of his scrunched up screaming face it is the photos I took after he had settled and was just laying on my bed that show his real beauty.

It is amazing to think that sometimes driving around Canberra that we actually live in the city. We had so much fun yesterday afternoon going on a bush walk, well more like a paddock walk. I was unsure if we were allowed to be in this particular paddock but Jock (my Husband and the dare devil one) assured me we would be just fine.

Most of our intentions these days are to keep Owen happy. After a huge day sleep, we had to wear him out somehow and I love any opportunity in which I can bring my camera along and take photos. Unfortunately our plan didn’t work, Owen was still up till 10.30pm last night. I don’t know if it’s the age but we are struggling with his sleeping patterns at the moment. If he doesn’t have a sleep he is hard to live with after about 3pm in the afternoon but crashes pretty quickly by 7pm. But If we can get him to sleep during the day he won’t go back to bed at night (but mum gets a rest).

This one is mine, meet Owen! 2 years old and deep in tantrum territory. He’s naughty, he’s cheeky and he is our little miracle. He amazes me everyday, his personality is so different to mine and my husbands. He is feisty, demanding and very stubborn (actually he does get this from me). He has red hair, and no immediate family of ours has?? he is tall, he has blue eyes and has the 2 cutest little freckles on the top of his nose. He is quirky and has the strangest sense of humour. He loves to jump on trampolines, beds, couches, off chairs. He is obsessed with trains and the movie polar express. He doesn’t eat, hates going shopping and loves chooks/ chickens (the real ones). He can color in better than me and is fully toilet trained. Even though he has been the biggest challenge of my life, I wouldn’t change him for the world…
