Life is hard enough without being true to your self. Strip away the outside, my thoughts and roles and I am who I am.

Strip away Mother and Baby Art and the photographs I take make my eyes well up, my body shiver and my heart thump.

I have mistakingly stepped onto the one way digital photography revolution train and now I’m desperately trying to jump off.

As a new business I’m completely in the learning stages of this new career and to be honest I don’t think I’m happy about where I’m headed.

I have a vision for Mother and Baby Art that pushes past the sleepy naked baby. Don’t get me wrong those shots are beautiful. But when I get home from a shoot and scroll through all the photos I have taken, the sweet newborn stretched foot high in the air or the tiny body cuddled in dads arms are the shots that GET me. They are true life. They are as they are. Just. being.

These are the moments I want to capture.

Mother and Baby Art Photography is getting a face lift in the months to come. With this I want to start being true to myself and the moments that I want to capture. But I need your help! I’m not good at the technical stuff. I stopped receiving emails a couple of days ago and haven’t been able to send either. I think it is all fixed now! so if you have sent me an email and I haven’t replied yet I probably didn’t receive it. Please send it again!!!

Mother and Baby Art has just commenced business on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. Gemma Troy (this is me) is the face behind Mother and Baby Art. My passion is photographing newborns and mothers-to-be. I love the simplicity of black and white photographs and using light to create images that you are going to love and cherish forever.
